In one line
Curio collects no personal data. Not from the child who uses it and not from the adults. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics and no advertising. The only thing that ever leaves the device is the purchase receipt, when a grown-up buys "Curio Complete", and it goes to the store and to the service that validates it.
What information we collect
None that identifies a person. Specifically, Curio does not collect:
- Name, age, email address or any other data that identifies a person.
- Location.
- Photos, camera, microphone or contacts. The app asks for none of those permissions.
- Advertising identifiers.
- Usage, performance or crash statistics.
What is stored, and where
The drawings the child makes and the app's preferences (whether sound is on, the chosen age, the language) are stored on the device itself. They are never sent to any server: there is no server. If the app is uninstalled, that information is deleted with it. From the "For grown-ups" screen everything can be deleted at any time.
Who we share information with
Curio has no advertising, no analytics, no social networks, no share buttons and no tracking tools of any kind. The only third-party service is the one that validates the purchase of "Curio Complete": RevenueCat. It receives the purchase receipt from the store and an anonymous identifier that it generates itself for this device; it does not receive a name, an email or any data that identifies a person, and neither do we.
Internet
Curio works completely offline. The app makes no internet requests during normal use; it only connects when buying or restoring "Curio Complete", and only to the store and to the service that validates the purchase.
Children
Curio is made for children and complies with the rules that apply —COPPA in the United States and the GDPR in Europe— in the simplest possible way: by collecting nothing. As there is no personal data, there is nothing a parent has to authorize, review or ask to have deleted.
Everything that cannot be undone inside the app —the settings, the purchase and deleting saved drawings— is behind a question a young child cannot answer.
Purchases
Curio has a single purchase, "Curio Complete": a one-time payment that opens the whole app forever. There are no subscriptions and nothing else to buy. The purchase is processed by the store (App Store or Google Play) and not by us: we never see or store payment data. It sits behind the same grown-ups' question, so a child cannot reach it alone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. If we ever started collecting any personal data —which is not in the plans— we would say so here and in the app's store listing before doing it.
